Arnold Schwarzenegger, Welcome To The Dark Side

Posted in Global Warming, Media, News, Political, Politically Correct, Politics, Ray Nagin by jimbyrd on October 25, 2007

Arnold Schwarzenegger traversed into the political dark side last week with his signing of bill SB777, banning the use of the terms “mom and dad,” and “husband and wife,” in California’s public school’s textbooks, deeming the terms offensive to gays, lesbians and transgendered students. The bill also mandates that girls and boys can use each others restrooms and locker rooms. Bill AB394 subjects parents and teachers to indoctrination with anti-harassment training in case they object to homosexual indoctrination for their children–complaining about it to a teacher could be considered harassment. Bill AB14 requires business’, churches and non-profit organizations to support all forms of homosexuality and trangendered people.

Just a matter of days after his signing into law the state sponsorship of child abuse and the classifying of fundamental decency archaic , came the fires. Fires which could possibly rival the worst in the state’s history. What does Arnold the newly christened liberal do? He appeared to react to the wildfire disaster without thinking. He, from the start of the wildfire disaster, has been acting like a…..take charge Republican, antithetically to the current crop of Democrats who are crying “who is going to help us, lets blame Bush, its Global Warming, its because of the war in Iraq”, all the while wringing their hands in self inflicted misery. Funny thing about how instincts take over during an emergency.

Is Arnold the Republican he promised he was or is he a Democrat? He has stated, after signing the bills enumerated in the commencing paragraph, that the Republican presidential candidates should move to the center as he has. The problem is he has moved to the far radical left with the signing of these bills, not the center. He states that the candidates should move to the center when they are trying to demonstrate their move to the right, as witnessed in the last Republican presidential debate, where the candidates argued over who was the more conservative candidate. I don’t think they are buying what Arnold is selling, especially if they want to win the Republican primaries.

Perhaps Arnold is a Democrat that likes to dress up like a Republican or a Republican that likes to dress up like a Democrat. This could explain his affinity for the transsexual agenda he wants to indoctrinate California school children with. Arnold may well be a transpolitical.

He also, since his dabbling in the dark side of the liberal Democrat cult last week, seems to be oblivious to the cannibalistic nature of the left if you veer too far from the far left’s agenda. Consider the following examples:

Cindy Sheehan, who was anointed the Patron Saint of the anti-war wing of the left cultist just a few years ago, has been devoured, digested and passed along into the sewers of Berkley, CA. She was used for all she was worth and when she disagreed with their agenda she was cannibalized.

Hillary Clinton apparently is the new course on the liberal menu. The far left may not be gnawing on her yet, but the feast is about to start. There is a group called Democratic Courage, a political action committee, who do not believe she is progressive enough for the Democrat nomination. They also believe that she is not electable in the general election. Their goal is to stop her in the primaries. As she starts moving closer to the center to make herself more electable, more of these groups are going to have her on a skewer.

What does the issue with the left eating their own have to do with Arnold? Have they started salivating over him after only a week? No. The problem is a case of the assumptions. He received a good dose of left wing media’s assumptions during an interview about the wildfires ravaging his state.

ABC reporter Claire Shipman tried goading Arnold into admitting that the state’s efforts to fight the fires was not going very well. She alluded to the comparison of Katrina and California’s current wildfires disaster. Arnold grabbed her arm and rebuked her. He said, “Trust me when I tell you, you are looking for a mistake and you won’t find it because it’s all good news, as much as you maybe hate it, but it’s good news.” She told Arnold that an unnamed official in Orange County said that the state doesn’t have the resources to fight the fire. Arnold stated, “Anyone that is complaining about the planes, just wants to complain because it’s a bunch of nonsense.”

The most incredulous part of this interview was not what she asked, it is what had to be going through Claire Shipman’s mind after Arnold’s tempestuous response. She had to be thinking that Arnold is out of his mind. Did he not just come over to our side last week? Doesn’t he know that it is protocol to blame someone else and that it is embarrassing to the left if one of their cult members takes control of a disaster? Why is he not blaming someone else for this? Why is he not blaming George Bush? What about global warming? The war in Iraq? Did he not learn how a liberal should act in a crisis from Kathleen Blanco and Ralph Nagin? Does he not know they raised the bar and set the standard?

The left and the main stream media are not concerned with the true reason for what started the fires if they can’t connect it to the current administration. They need to blame Bush, global warming and the war in Iraq. They are too irresponsible and intoxicated with hate to either investigate the real cause or assimilate the facts as they unfold about the fires.

The cities share equal culpability in the destruction of the property and humanity from the fires. If the main stream media did their job, they would know the cities share equal responsibility by allowing residential zoning in these highly volatile areas without the securing of proper forest and land management first. Equally responsible are the left wing eco-nazis who have prevented proper forest management and preventing the homeowners from clearing the land around their houses of the highly flammable brush. The surrounding land and forests can be managed to prevent the fires or drastically lessen their effects on real property through California’s anemic judicial system and weak minded liberal politicians. And just as equally responsible are the government and judiciary in California for allowing themselves to be bullied by the eco-terrorist and thus being paralyzed from taking prudent action and prevention. Add to that the fact that the fires were an act of arson and you have the the true story behind the fires. But the main stream media would rather blame Bush, global warming and the war in Iraq.

Arnold acted on instinct, took action and as much control as possible given the situation. This liberal reporter for a liberal news outlet, just could not grasp that. It was incomprehensible to her for him not to use the crisis for political gain and blame someone else for his state’s crisis, point his finger and then plead for someone to fix the problem without trying. As Arnold was dealing with this crisis, other Democrat liberals, obviously realizing that the California Governor was not going to blame someone or something in D.C., started the finger pointing and politicizing the disaster for their gain.

California Lt. Governor John Garamendi, a Democrat, stated that the war in Iraq was to blame for a limited amount of National Guard troops able to fight the fires in California. He also threw in that we should not be in Iraq.

He called President Bush’s visit to the disaster area a publicity stunt and would be a distraction.

He stated in one interview that, “OK, President Bush comes out, we’ll be polite. But frankly, that’s not the solution. How about sending our National Guard back from Iraq so that we have those people available here to help us?”

Harry Reid D-Nev. started the politicizing when he told reporters, “One reason we have fires in California is global warming.” He also stated that we need to pass the Democrats’ comprehensive energy package.

Not to be outdone, Barbara Boxer D-Ca., said she believed the state’s National Guard had been compromised because too much of their equipment and personnel are in Iraq. Here is the acumen of Boxer’s comment, California has 20,000 National Guard and approximately 2000 of them are in Iraq. That is 10 percent. Significantly less than “compromised.” She obviously believes that the military was confused with the terms fire fighter and firefight and that must be the reason we have not won Iraq yet because we sent the National Guard over there to fight with shovels and fire fighting planes. Also to add to her ignorance, the state had 90 firefighting planes on the ground that were not utilized before the winds kicked up to 100 mph because of politicians like her.

The problem with managing the wildfires started on the first day, which is undeniably crucial to containment. The same problem as with the Katrina disaster. The only difference is the incompetence of local and state politicians exasperating the problems in New Orleans as compared to California Republicans doing their best to circumnavigate the labyrinthically suffocating bureaucracy of government to suppress the fires.

To manifest the following sequence of events, imagine that your city’s fire department had no one at the station and they had 2 hours to get there when a fire alarm came in. They could not leave the station and go to a house fire until a neighborhood representative was available to ride with them into the neighborhood to direct them. The neighborhood representative had 4 hours to respond. This pretty much sums up the bureaucracy in place in California that subverts any expedient action. Here is the sequence of events from Sunday to Wednesday:

  • Firefighters on the ground requested that the state Office of Emergency Services ask the National Guard to supply four helicopters on Sunday. Under state rules, a California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection a “spotter” must accompany each military and National Guard helicopter to coordinate water drops.
  • The “spotters” have 24 hours to report for duty.
  • 19 Navy and Marine helicopters were ready to fly Sunday, but didn’t take off because there were no state fire spotters to accompany the crews. California policy requires the so-called fire spotters to fly with military helicopter pilots.
  • A deal was brokered to waive the ’spotter” requirement, allowing flights to begin Wednesday.
  • By the time those ’spotters” arrived, the powerful Santa Ana winds made it too dangerous to fly.
  • It took a full day for Navy, Marine and California National Guard helicopters to get clearance to fly earlier this week, in part because of the state rules require all firefighting choppers to be accompanied by state forestry military helicopter managers
  • A deal was brokered between Cal-Fire and the Marines that let the Marines request Cal-Fire to lift its policy on the military helicopter managers and allowing the helicopters to start flying.
  • By the time the helicopters got airborne, the area burned had quadrupled to more than 390 square miles, and the number of homes destroyed jumped from 34 to more than 700.

It was bureaucracy and not the winds that kept the planes and helicopters grounded until the fire was out of control due to the Santa Anna winds.

What were the Republican’s from California doing while Garamendi, Boxer, Reid and their contemporaries were demonstrating their unparalleled display of ignorance, hate and the politicizing of a disaster?

Duncan Hunter R-Calif. and a Republican presidential candidate, stayed in his home town of San Diego, CA where he was successful in getting the National Guard to send 6 C-130 jets from Colorado, Wyoming and North Carolina to California to assist on fighting the fires. These particular C-130s are equipped to fight fires.

So far Arnold has made a poor example of how to act like a Democrat since moving to the left last week. He has come out of the closet as a transpolitical oddity. His instincts overpowered his want or need to appease the far left and their self serving agenda. He has confused the main stream media. Arnold has done an exceptional job of handling the crisis even though he had to overcome obstacles that he may or may not have created or could have dismantled. Contrast his demeanor and his indignation of the negative naysayers during the press conference with reporters to the inactions of Kathleen Blanco standing in front of the press’ microphone in tears and wringing her hands and paralyzed from taking action on time sensitive issues in her state and Ray Nagin being responsible for mishandling the evacuation of New Orleans and being directly responsible for most of the human suffering in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger issued 17 emergency orders in the midst of the wildfires. He eliminated the time for the unemployed because of the fire to receive unemployment benefits without the usual 2-3 week wait. Waived the fees associated with the reproduction of documents lost in the fires. He ordered state agencies to negotiate, with expedition, contracts to remove debris from the burned down structures, and to speed the process, suspended competitive bidding for the work. He also ordered the state Franchise Tax Office to give extensions to fire victims for paying their taxes.

As the state of California and its municipalities were coming together during this time of crisis the only voices of heresy were coming from anyone and everyone with Democrat in front of their name–a growing pattern in this country. Schwarzenegger mandated these executive orders while the fires are only 60% contained, while New Orleans is still, after two years, waiting on someone to give them a plan and execute it for them.
