The Democrats Show Their True Faces In Petraeus Hearing
![]()
If you were to stamp the modern day Republican party with a face it would be Ronald Reagan– even though his presidency was 20 years ago. There have been two Republican presidents since then, although they campaigned as Republicans, one ended up being middle of the road moderate and the other did an about face and his inner liberal reared its ugly head.
If you have followed the Petraeus hearings on Capital Hill the past couple of days, you saw the face of the Democrat party. Since they are such a progressive organization it is hard to pin a definitive face on them week to week. A face that represents them one week might not be far enough from mainstream the next week. It primarily depends on who they are pandering to on any given week. The face of the Democrat party is ambiguous and not straightforward because so much of it is the same old empty rhetoric bouncing from one Democrat talking head to the next. You would have to incarnate the ensuing juxtapositions to manifest a face.
Before the hearings started, MoveOn.org ran a full page add in the New York Times defaming General Petraeus personally and his report on Iraq. The full page add was discounted $102,000 for MoveOn.org by the Times. The group MoveOn.org is a substantial money machine for the Democrat politicians if they are far enough to the left. They don’t just throw their money at any Democrat. You at least have to pass their litmus test of four qualifying categories to receive any money: 1) you must be anti-American 2) be completely void of principles 3) be completely void of guiding morals 4) believe the U.S. Constitution is a hoax compelled on the U.S. citizenry. Pass this test and money flows like manna from the sky. Both Houses of Congress were asked to formally rebuke MoveOn.org for the ad — they refused. This is the face of the Democrat party.
If you were able to watch the hearings, then you saw the outburst of the Codepink nazis during the hearings. They were dressed in pink costumes from head to toe. They interrupted the hearings when General Petraeus started speaking. They were ejected from the hearings and started shrieking like banshees as they were being removed. It is inconceivable that they were let into the hearings in the first place dressed as they were and knowing the organization they represented and what the results were going to be. It was apparent from the onset what their goals were. This is the face of the Democrat party.
Norman Hsu has raised $1.2 million for Clinton and other Democrats while being a fugitive from the law for the past 15 years and it did not seem to be problematic for the Democrats. Hilliary Clinton was warned of his past before taking his money. Hilary Clinton has a storied history of dirty money and has been fined for violating federal election rules during her senate campaign for concealing more than $700,000 in contributions. She also took dirty money from Abdul Rehman Jinnah, a Pakistani businessman, who became a fugitive from the law for illegal campaign contributions. Hillary Clinton’s former finance director was indicted on charges of filing fictitious reports that misstated contributions for a Hollywood fund-raising gala for the senator. This is the face of the Democrat party.
“Despite what I view is your rather extraordinary efforts in your testimony both yesterday and today,” said Clinton, “I think that the reports that you provide to us really require a willing suspension of disbelief.” Clinton also told Petraeus and Crocker they had been unfairly set up as spokesmen for President George W. Bush. Clinton called the General a liar. It was apparent that Clinton was not speaking to General Petraeus, Congress or anyone in the room, she was using calculated political speech to reach a more vast and ominous sect — dailykos.com, moveon.com and other radical left wing money makers monitoring the media. This is the face of the Democrat party.
“The war in Iraq is lost and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country”, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid. This is the face of the Democrat party.
Barack Obama had this to say about the war in Afghanistan, “Now you have narco drug lords who are helping to finance the Taliban, so we’ve got to get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops that we are not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there.” This is the face of the Democrat party.
John Kerry had this to say about our military, “Our soldiers personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals…Our soldiers are stupid and lazy.” This is the face of the Democrat party.
The questions posed by the Democrats to General Petraeus were so absurd that they would defy being parodied. It was reminiscent of the Robert Bork hearings. There was a large contrast during the hearings between General Petraeus and the Democrat horde. The Democrats came across as anti-American, uneducated, prejudiced and a desperate group who’s only salvation is for the U.S. to lose the war in Iraq. General Petraeus came across as a benevolent PhD, with unlimited patience, in a room full of 8th grade defiant dropouts, with the mindset that the world is flat, trying to be taught quantum physics. This is the face of the Democrat party.
What we have established, at least for this week, is that the Democrat party’s desperate attempt to insure we either lose the war in Iraq or at least have the appearance we are is literally life or death for their party. Their party does not have a platform other than losing the war and all their eggs are in that basket. As put so eloquently by one of their own:
As House majority whip Jim Clyburn of South Carolina stated when he was asked by the Washington Post what Democrats would think if Petraeus reports next month that the war is going well. “That would be a real big problem for us,” Clyburn candidly replied.
