Memorial Day
Today is Memorial Day, formally known as Decoration Day. Most people have no idea what it represents. To most it is just a three day holiday that means you can wear white pants now.
Decoration Day started before the end of the civil war to honor the soldiers who died. It was started in the South by women’s groups who were decorating the graves of Confederate soldiers. The North followed suit and started their own Decoration Day. After WWII it continued on to honor all soldiers who where killed in battle. In 1967 the federal government officially unified the holiday into Memorial Day.
Sometimes things of this magnitude transcend individuals and whole cities can become exceedingly patriotic. Lets give just due where it is deserved during this special holiday.
San Fransisco is the champion. Lets take a look at their patriotism and how they honor the soldiers who have fought for their freedom to be idiots and the densely bastion of anti-American leeches they have become.
The USS Iowa fought in battles from WWII to Korea to the Persian Gulf. The battle ship is retired and headed to the San Fransisco Fisherman’s Wharf to be permanently docked as a museum. But city supervisors voted 8-3 against the ship being docked in their bay. Citing local opposition to the military’s stance on gays in the military and their opposition to the Iraqi war.
The San Fransisco City Public School Board voted to eliminate the Army and Navy Junior ROTC programs from the city’s high schools which 1,600 students participate. They did this because they don’t agree with the military’s’ “don’t ask don’t tell” policy.
And the most offensive of all: Gerardo Sandoval, a city supervisor, stated that the “United States should not have a military. All in all we would be in better shape if we never had one”. A city supervisor is equivalent to a city councilman.
He was asked what if the nation were attacked? How would we handle it? He replied, “There is nothing that could happen to this country that the police and fire departments could not handle.”
It doesn’t take much to realize that not only are there people but entire cities that are not worthy to be in this country. The city of San Fransisco does not deserve to belong to this country. Yes you can blame the entire city because they elect these anarchist. These people actually do represent the people.
If you are not that well informed about Nancy Pelosi or have just heard here name here and there but have yet to connect all the dots, these are the people who elected her. These are her constituents. If she wavers too far from their from their agenda, she will not be reelected and she knows it.
